Staff of the MSc Program
Teaching the courses, supervising postgraduate theses, and practical exercises (where applicable) can be undertaken by those provided for by current regulations. The remuneration for the teaching staff is specifically provided as follows:
(a) Faculty members of the International Hellenic University who are academic staff, whether they have any contract as academic personnel, provided their teaching work in the MSc Program is beyond their formal teaching obligations in the Department (as defined in paragraph 3 of article 36 of law 4485/2017), may receive financial remuneration if they meet the conditions of the current legislation. The amount of financial remuneration is determined each year by the MSc Program's Coordinating Committee (S.E.) and after a decision by the MSc Program's Executive Committee (E.D.E.), taking into account the current legislation.
(b) Instructors who hold a recognized doctoral degree and do not serve in any capacity as members of the International Hellenic University may receive additional pay if assigned to teach a course in the MSc Program, which is determined each year by the MSc Program's Coordinating Committee (S.E.) and after a decision by the MSc Program's Executive Committee (E.D.E.).
(b) Instructors who hold a recognized doctoral degree and do not serve in any capacity as members of the International Hellenic University may receive additional pay if assigned to teach a course in the MSc Program, which is determined each year by the MSc Program's Coordinating Committee (S.E.) and after a decision by the MSc Program's Executive Committee (E.D.E.).
The staff providing administrative or technological support for the MSc Program is designated by the MSc Program's Coordinating Committee (S.E.) and approved by the MSc Program's Executive Committee (E.D.E.). This staff, if they are members of the International Hellenic University, may receive additional pay for their work only if the work they provide is beyond their formal obligations and working hours. The amount of additional pay or remuneration for staff outside the International Hellenic University is proposed by the MSc Program's Coordinating Committee (S.E.) and approved by the MSc Program's Executive Committee (E.D.E.).
The teaching staff undertakes:
Teaching the courses (either independently or in collaboration).
Supervision as primary advisors for theses. Each faculty member can supervise 3 postgraduate students per year and 6 every two years.
Supervision as co-advisors for theses (with a maximum of five undergraduate theses in the first cycle).
